Wet Wednesday

The laptop has become my new best friend. I'm actually sitting at swim practice as I write this..... I love it, technology is just amazing:).

So today it has been wet and rainy here all day. I let Gunnar sleep an extra 30 minutes this morning because of the down pour. I'm not about to go out and stand at the bus stop in the rain(I might melt)! Of course she was upset at me. She hates to go car pool. She says I always make her late. That is not the case, she just loves to ride the bus with all of her friends. I volunteered in her class today for an hour and Gates stayed home with Todd. Todd is under the weather AGAIN! I'm starting to wonder if he has mono---YIKES. He is going back to the doctor tomorrow. Gates and I stayed in most of the day. We ran out to the bank, then he took a nap. Dominic and Isabella came over after school for a quick play day. Tracy had to run Ben to swim early and didn't want the two little ones to have to sit there forever. Anyway, we had dinner, then off to swim we went. I only had to pick up three girls tonight instead of my usual 7.. Everyone had practice at different times. I'm sitting here trying to sign Gunnar up for a swim meet that is to take place in a few weeks, but for some reason it isn't accepting my email--ugh. I guess I will have to talk to the coaches at the end of practice. Anyway, a not so exciting day, but a peaceful, uneventful one and sometimes that's just nice. OK enough for now, until next time............................

Lovin Life and Each Other

Today Gates and I had to run some errands after I picked him up from pre-school. He was such a good little guy that I told him he could get a special treat. He says to me "then we have to get something for Gunnar". So he chose to get baby bottle pops for each of them--well they were buy two get one free and he decided since Gunnar had to be gone all day to school that she deserved two and he would have one:) So sweet that little guy.. He was super excited when she got home to give her the treat and he made a point to tell her she got two and he only got one. She told him they could share it----so in fact they did. I love the days when they play together. They played for a really long time, just making stuff up and enjoying each others company. You can see by the pics they were just lovin life and loving being outside together. They didn't even seem to notice it was a bit chili. I love these two little monkeys. I never stop smiling when they are around. I love to hear their chatter, and laughter -- it just makes life worth living!!!!!

Making Muffins

My Gunnar Grace has become quite an independent little thing lately. She is now making muffins all by herself. The only thing I have to do is stick them in the oven, take them out when they are done and eat them!! Can you say yummy? As you can see by the pictures she has a supervisor:0) He likes to lick the bowl. Actually, I think they both prefer the batter more than the actaul muffins.

Snow Days

These are just a few pictures from our snow days in January that I never posted.... We had a wonderful time playing and sledding for several days. In between our fun out doors we were inside warming up by the fire, and drinking hot coco.

Glitter Girls

Last night I officially ran my own Glitter Girl gathering without the help of my gal pal, Tiffany. She always did ALL the running of the show so to speak and I was just there for support. When Tiff moved the wand got passed to me. I think it went pretty well, considering we were at a gymnastic meet and I was competing with lots and lots of noise. We got there about an hours before the meet started, but warm ups were going on and did I say it was LOUD? We made signs for the Wolfpack to cheer them on, then we had our Bible lesson on teamwork--Tiff I think you would have been proud! It was really NOISY! I know Lindsey was listening, as for everyone else well, who knows what they heard--some of them were looking at me!! HAHAHA you had to be there to understand the meaning in that, and if I forgot to tell ya----it was LOUD!!! The girls seemed to have a great time. Of course they loved the cotton candy, popcorn and goodies. I gave all of them a special Valentine treat of really large gumballs--I think Gates all 6 of his before the meet was over, so everyone that was there check your behind you may have gum on your seat:) Gates is not a glitter girl, but we can now officially call him our gumball guy(one of our mascots). Riley, Tiffs 9 month old niece came with her daddy, Thomas to join in on the festivities too--she is the official Glitter Girl mascot! To top off the night, Coach Todd gave all the girls a special Wolfpack T-shirt.. Go Pack and congrats another Big WIN!!!!! Until next time....................

Happy Valentines Day

Today is Valentines and I woke up with two of my favorite people beside me---Gunnar and Gates.. Todd unfortunately got the boot last night. He didn't get home until late so our request to him was to sleep on the couch!! Well, not really, but we did leave him a note to please sleep in Gunnars room. They enjoy having a night with mom every now and then and I love it too. We all snuggled up and watched a little TV until they both fell asleep. To be honest I didn't even hear Todd come in last night--he was busy after his meet, setting up for the meet that was to take place all weekend.. UGH!! I did however smell the aroma of his smokey cigar slipping through my window at about 1am, as he sat on the deck trying to unwind--after a wonderful win against UNC AGAIN!!!!!!! YEEHAW! The gymnastic team is definitely coming back after a bit of a rocky start. We've won our last two home meets. Todd will be away for the next four weeks--WHEW-- that means lots of kid time for me YIKES. Nah, we will be fine I just have to keep them moving and we will all survive. So as for today, Valentines Day I'm sitting alone doing what I want to do as the kids are at NC State having hopefully a wonder full daddy day. I'm loving every minute of my quiet time. I wish I could stop thinking of all the things that need to be done! Until next time....... happy hearts to all!!!

Gates Kiss

I thought I would quickly write this little tid bit while my little Romeo sleeps so sweetly. The other day Gunnar was at school and Gates and I were on the computer looking at Tiffany's facebook page(our friends that just moved to Dallas) and he saw a picture of Aleah(there 6 year old daughter)and he said "that's a pretty girl" I said "are you talking about Aleah?" and he said "yup, remember when I kissed her?" and I said "yes". He replied back with "I liked it"!!!!!!! We went to the beach with them over Thanksgiving and he would not leave her alone, that is when the kiss occurred. According to him and Aleah one day they are going to get married.. I guess time will only tell. As we all know distance does make the heart grow fonder:)

Back in Action

Well it's been quite a while since I've updated this crazy blog, but I'm being bombarded by my family to get on the ball.. It's just been crazy busy around here. Gymnastic season is here and it rules the roost in our house, I'm not complaining because we do love it but it can be very time consuming. Anyway, since my last post, Gunnar has gone back to school(Jan 28th)she tracked back in and so far so good. Our best friends the Walters moved to Dallas, which we are soooo missing. Todd turned 41--but he still looks as good as the day I met him:)---Thank God he has that going for him!!! HAHA Now it's Valentines Day and we continue to run full speed ahead. My post have stopped due to a cesation in naps around here. Gates has decided napping is for babies. He will occasionally nap if his life is threatened other wise he is threatening me!!! Gunnar swims 2-3 days a week so on top of the regular business that goes on here we now have to get her in and out the door along with 7 other girls. Thankfully we car pool, but on my days I have to find a place for Gates to hang out til one of us gets home, so I can fit all the girls in my car. Both kids are awesome, loving life, hating school(yes, both of them)-Gates is getting better again after getting back into the swing of things. Christmas break and track out took a toll on both kids. They were off just a bit too long, not for me but for their routine. Slowly it's getting better and then we will track out again, UGH. Tonight we are headed to cheer on the Wolfpack, and have a little Glitter Girl time with friends from church. Looking forward to all of it. Hopefully I will have a chance to just chill with my little Valentines tomorrow while Todd works the weekend away.. Until next time.....hopefully you wont have to wait soooooooooo long!?! I make no promises though:)
