Gunnar had her first swim meet yesterday as part of the Wave swim team. She did awesome. It was an EARLY morning for us and we typically don't do well with mornings, but we managed to all wake up in a good mood. We had to be at the pool at 8am, so we left our house at 720ish to make it on time. And for once we actaully were on time--for some reason I struggle with that aspect of life.(I'm working on it)...
Gunnar swam four events: freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke and butterfly and at the end was in a freestyle relay. She WON butterfly and came in second in all her other races. She was a swimming machine. She was so cute out there just kickin away. She has shown tons of improvement, so I think this year round thing will pay off for her. She has four girl friends that are in her same group so that definately helps to motivate her to go to practice and do her best. She is, as we all know a social bug. She loves to be with her friends!! As for now she seems to be enjoying it, we never know from one day to the next what she is going to want to do, but we support that part of her character and are happy to let her explore everything. We will always big her biggest cheerleaders!
